1994 - More branches open and a huge year of reports

There is more expansion with fourteen groups established in Sydney and regional NSW and an Aboriginal Study Circle set up. 

The Aboriginal Study Circle organises a Gathering of Female Elders at La Perouse. 

Twenty-three discussion groups are held. Five major projects are run. Thirteen submissions, papers and reports are presented/submitted and five educational talks are given.  The Theatre Group dons a new stage costume in the feminist colours of green, white and violet.

Bankstown Wellness steered by Noreen Hewett is established with a grant from the National Women’s Health Program.  Bankstown Greek OWN is formed with a dancing group as a feature of this warm and sociable group. 

Penrith OWN begins with an emphasis on friendship, mutual support and consumer activism. Newcastle OWN is launched following a meeting in Newcastle Town Hall.  

OWN (Australia) receives its first grant from the National Agenda for Women’s Grants Program and begins its advocacy, research and lobbying work led by Betty Johnson, Noreen Hewett and others.
