The Voices of older women

Every older woman has a story to tell. Each one is unique. These stories (below) point to lives lived with hopes dashed, dreams stolen and strength found. We thank all the older women who shared their stories with us.

These stories have been collated as part of the #ReadyToListen project aimed at ending sexual assaults of older women, including those living in residential aged care.

The #ReadyToListen project is a collaboration between the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN), Celebrate Ageing and OWN NSW. We want everyone who works with older women to know that all older women deserve to be treated with dignity, to be heard, and to be safe.

Are you #ReadyToListen?

The #ReadyToListen project has developed a suite of resources for aged care providers as well as aged care workers.
