Who Are We?

South Illawarra Older Women’s Network (SIOWN) commenced in 2024 and welcomes members who are passionate about supporting older women in the community, including themselves, to live fulfilling, healthy and connected lives.

SIOWN draws its membership from the Shellharbour, Kiama and Berry districts. This beautiful area is a mix of well-established and growing coastal townships, farming communities and villages bordering the Illawarra escarpment.

Current meeting dates and venue

Date/Time: 3rd Friday of each month, 2-4pm
Venue: St Peter and Paul Church Hall, 94-112 Manning St, Kiama.

SIOWN supports initiatives identified by members that involve:

  • linking women into existing groups and activities
  • supporting the development of networking opportunities, activities and groups
  • promoting advocacy on key issues that affect older women.

The initiatives relate to:

  • healthy ageing and wellness
  • intellectual and emotional wellbeing
  • nature/art therapy
  • social gatherings and outings
  • advocating improvements to policies and programs that impact older women.
