Who Are We?
While many other community groups exist, Deepwater OWN Woy Woy is a unique, new venture born out of a desire to create a warm, vibrant, safe, contemporary and comfortable space where your voice and views as an older woman are central, and our collective voice carries weight.

Deepwater OWN Woy Woy held its first meeting at Woy Woy Library in May, 2012 and we anticipate this growing group of energetic women will remain a strong voice of camaraderie for older women on the Central Coast for many years to come.
Over the last couple of years, we have seen an upswing in membership numbers which now sits at 30 members with several prospective members in the wings.
At the inaugural meeting held in May 2012, and via surveys completed by older women in Woy Woy, Ettalong Beach and Umina, it became clear that what unites the current members of Deepwater OWN Woy Woy is a desire to be part of a resurgence of a group of women coming together to recapture collective strengths, talents and experiences.
New members are encouraged to contribute to the development of our shared vision. The branch is launching a “Coffee and Chat” afternoon in conjunction with the Peninsula Women’s Health Centre in February, 2020.
We are also looking to launch a conversation and company program for the more isolated and lonely residents of a large local retirement home in mid-2020.

We meet regularly on the on the fourth Friday of each month from 2 pm – 4 pm in the Spike Milligan Room at the Woy Woy Library on the corner of Blackwall Road and Oval Ave, Woy Woy. As well as talk, tea and catch up, these meetings include:
- Guest Speakers
- Social Events
- Community Campaigns
- Fundraising for victims of domestic violence
Deepwater OWN Woy Woy brings together a group of intelligent, humorous and dynamic women who value diversity.
If that sounds like what you’ve been searching for, then don’t hesitate a moment longer!
