Blacktown & Wellness

We think laughter is the best medicine

Who Are We?

The Blacktown OWN Group began in 2004.  We’re all about friendship.

We believe staying connected is the key to staying healthy as you get older.  So our aim is to make sure you have fun!

Affordable activities take place three days a week.  So on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays you’ll find us at the Rooty Hill School of Arts shaking with laughter, deep in discussion or drifting on a cloud of relaxation.

Please contact us for more information and the latest timetable of activities. We would love to hear from you.

As a welcome back to 2022, Blacktown OWN had a ‘Lets Get Active’ Games day that was enjoyed by all.

The members played bocce, quoits, cornhole, and balloon tennis all for a bit of fun and an active get together. There was something for everyone and a lot of laughs!

At Blacktown OWN we are delighted with our multicultural membership.

You will find new friends from all over the world ‑ Italian, Malaysian, English, Dutch, Maltese, Scottish, Chinese, Indonesian, Welsh, Pilipino, Irish.  Each year we expand our family!

We have an amazing and hardworking team of 15 volunteer Committee Members who make sure things run like clockwork.

We also have a really diverse age range amongst our membership. Our members range in age from 38 to 97 years – and all identify as older women.

At Blacktown OWN we have created a haven of friendship and sharing.  In this environment Wellness becomes a lifestyle that is a pleasure to maintain.
