"What Do You Expect At Your Age?!"

Apr 23

Join us for this special event.

Join us as we discuss the important issue of how ageism impacts the delivery of health care.

“What do you expect at your age?” is a common refrain heard too often by older people. How do older people feel about this, and what can we do to change this situation?

We will be joined by

“Valerie”, an older woman with lived experience

Dimity Pond, GP and Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Newcastle

Tracey McDonald, Consultant clinical gerontologist, Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing member, and associate editor with Wiley Press, Geneva

Women are traditional spinners - of tales, of cloth, or many fine things. May we in OWN continue to spin strong webs of support which create a safety net for older women's emotional and physical wellbeing; and create a sling from which to catapult into the wider community older women's aspirations for a better world.
