Donna's Sweet 16 Story

Portrait of Barbara

I lived in Port Macquarie with my mum, dad & two younger brothers.

Still at school, with two more years till I finished. I was planning to go to university, and I was the first in the family to do that. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do but liked the idea of medicine. I didn’t want to be a teacher but did end up in teaching.

My parents were fairly supportive and Mum expected the best from me. I had a boyfriend that I hung out with, all very innocent.

I always expected that I would get married and have kids at some stage but at 16 didn’t think about it too much. I spent lots of time at the beach and with my friends listening to The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
